Dr. Folake's Professional Bio & Photos

So you’re done with MS Mastery®! Tons of learning, & perhaps a little implementing. Yay!!! Now comes the real work, the actual implementing…

MS Besties™ The Membership is a supportive community of fellow MS Besties doing the same thing you’re doing.

In MS Besties™ you will get the support that you need as you implement the MS recovery steps that you have learned, from me, but also from others walking the same exact path.

Even if you’re a self-motivated person who can usually take information and run with it, it’s so different when you’re doing this in community.

I was that person that felt like she didn’t need a community, but once I started to join programs with community, I realized that level of support and understanding, with people you can turn to when you’re having a hard time is somehting that I need in my life.

Guess what?

It changed my results and my experience of doing otherwise hard things

MS BESTIES™ WILL HELP YOU TO DO IT WITH MORE EASE AND TO GET THE REFRAMES AND SUPPORT THAT YOU NEED ALONG YOUR ROAD TO RECOVERY!

This all sounds great but… What’s in it?

  • A Monthly Masterclass to delve deeper into the specific aspects of MS recovery and

  • A Monthly MeetUp where we get to ask questions pertaining to where we are, where we are stuck, where do we need help, where do we need a hug, and where do we just need someone to say, “I see you. I feel you. Keep going, you’re doing a good job!”

  • Guest Interviews/ Lectures from different specialists/ practitioners that are relevant to our MS recovery journeys, some with MS themselves.

  • A Private Group where it’s just MS Bestiesmembers, separate from the general community section of the portal

  • An ability to get an upgrade of a One-On-One Call with me to strategize and get clarity on the exact next steps you should focus on and we both map out your Dr. Folake approved personalized MS recovery plan that lives in a private portal. This is only available for those who have taken MS Mastery® and are possibly in MS Besties™ currently, not to the general MS community.

HI! I AM FOLAKE TAYLOR, AGAIN!

Thriving with PPMS

Folake, we’re both internal medicine docs, we were great physicians, and then we got the real education of our lives that transformed everything.

I love the work that you are doing, and giving hope to everyone. Progressive MS is very tough, but I’ve come back from profound disability, Folake’s come back from profound disability so you can have hope that you too can come back even from profound disability.

Terry Wahls, MD.

MS Researcher, MS & Neuroimmune Summit 2023

As a physician for more than 20 years, health & wellness has always been my passion. But it became personal when I was diagnosed with primary progressive multiple sclerosis PPMS in 2016, 2 years after I became disabled from what appeared to be lumbar disc problems, but was ultimately MS.

At the time, there was no medication on the market to treat PPMS. So I dug deeper into the holistic modalities that I instituted in 2014. A medication became available to treat PPMS in 2017 and I was blessed to get started on it. But then I realized that I needed to continue, and even augment conventional therapy with holistic modalities. The medication was not the magic bullet that I expected. While it helped slow the progression, my daily symptoms were horrendous.

That is how my integrative medicine journey began since I was NOT one of those people who made one tweak and became free of MS symptoms. Like, stop eating gluten, and boom, you’re all better! I am that person, who has had to do ALL THE THINGS!!!

So I crafted my life around mindset, nutrition, lifestyle, fitness, rehabilitation, detoxification, supplements, biohacking, and medication.

I realized that many people in the MS community did not know the things I did to help me get out of my chair, scooter, and subsequently my walker and cane. This realization gave me the idea for MS Mastery®, which is infused with the information I wish I’d had when I was newly diagnosed with MS. MS Besties™ is the next level version of MS Mastery® for implementation support.

As I mastered chronic pain and other symptoms, I continued to de-escalate prescription medications including eventually stopping Ocrevus. I am now eating foods that I have been sensitive to for years and unable to eat, and I continue to get stronger every day, including being able to tolerate full-length aerobics classes after years of folding up my treadmill.

My goal is very simple: To help women with MS lower their burden of illness and disability, through holistic living, and targeting root causes. Ultimately, an improved quality of life is the end game.

The body has an innate ability to heal and you are in the right place, my friend, to get the guidance that you need on your MS recovery journey.

but Don’t take my word for it

here’s what THE founding members of ms besties™ have to say…

When we started the course, I did the first module, like you said, some kind of quick, easy things you can do. I swapped out kitchen and cleaning and even some more personal products.

I still haven’t done water or air. Okay.

So those are some things on my mind. But there’s more to I could probably explore, with the mind and the nervous system. I am part of the Primal Trust community, which is Kathleen King’s program. I’m going very slow with it, but I’m learning a lot. So there’s a lot to implement there too.

With food and diet, I started working with Melody. And I extended another three months ’cause we did the gut testing, the hair mineral analysis, the food sensitivities. And so we just redid some of the tests and we’re still some more tweaks that have to be made. Okay. So we’re working on those now. But I will say my, like my GI tract, my digestion has been so much better since the things that we’ve changed and my energy level, that was really big for me.

I’m more of a teacher taught I need to have my hand held to learn these things, so that’s been really good. And we just started to bring back in some foods. So I’m doing chicken and beef, which is great. I had to take those out and. I was okay, but it was an adjustment. So that’s been nice. And some other foods I’m bringing back in and I haven’t had any responses, so.

And so I did ask her about detox and she said, I wanna give more time to food and supplements. So when you were saying that, it’s ringing a bell because I know about CallCore. And she said, we will bring that in when the time is right. So there’s still some new bacterias that we identified in my latest GI map, but I do wanna do that at some point when the time is right.

And exercising. I’ve started working with Kathy Chester, who also, like Melody has MS but she’s been a physical trainer for decades and had a gym at one point, but now she has an online program and she works one-on-one with people. And I work twice a week for an hour. And it’s been great, just the connection. I think that’s a big piece of this, the connection with the women.

And so that’s been really impactful. There’s always stuff going on. All the little things, odds and ends we do. But, I will say without you, Dr. Folake Taylor, I wouldn’t be doing any of this. I wouldn’t know about Melody or Kathy or this program and all of the things that I’ve been able to do, and to see how they help and connect those dots. Yeah. I might have read about it. And we all take different programs and follow a lot of things online, but it really connected the dots and then the community, connecting with the MS Besties in these calls. So I’m in such a different place than I was a little over a year ago. I didn’t have that community.

So anyway, there’s a lot of little pieces. I have more work to do. You know, with my tapping and meditation, I was a little more consistent with the school year and I’ve gotten away from it. But I’m trying to be gentle on myself that it just isn’t in the cards every day. And if I have to start the morning a certain way and hit it later, or if I don’t get to it, it’s okay. I’m still learning and giving myself grace on that. So there, there’s a lot.

And, you know, you don’t wanna make it have it feel like a full-time job. So there’s a lot going on. But it’s also a piece of what I’ve learned from this course in the community is advocating for yourself, knowing that you don’t have to settle for maybe a neurologist you don’t feel like is as comprehensive as they could be. And, you know, adaptive driving is something that’ll help me keep my independence. But there’s always gonna be more. And I love that I have this whole, this beautiful program to go back to and look at it. And it was so good to hear you go through those points again. And just, it all connects so many dots.

I’ve had some down moments and I’ve reached out to Dr Folake for help and insight and we had a one-on-one call, which was really huge and helpful.

And that’s the other thing I’m learning. This is part of this is life. Another thing you said is the micro goals, not the whole big, the big goal for me is to be walking on my own again and moving better, but I think I have to break that down.

And I always have this insight and it’s like, no, be with the journey. So seeing where it takes me, but it’s like as I go where it takes me focusing on that, it’s not easy to do.

I would not have been able to say any of these things without this program.
